Absolutely. In fact the original name of what we call Economics today was actually "Political Economy" and has its roots in moral philosophy. Rest assured, there is very little of anything resembling science going on. It's all agenda. There is something that they want to push and they are trying to find a way to justify it and make it palatable to the rest of society. If science had anything to do with it we would eventually see a consensus form after a sufficient amount of time regarding issues of monetary policy and other topics that are currently contested.
