Paypal does the same thing. I added a bank account, and Paypal requested my username and password to automatically verify the two test deposits they made.

- theobon 10y agoIs that new. When I signed up, admittedly a number of years ago, they just asked me to tell them the amounts of the two test deposits. No login creds provided.
- sathackr 10y agoAt first I thought so, as the first time I saw it was a couple of months ago when I added a new account, but then I googled and found [1] So I guess it's based on your routing number and whether your bank's online system has the proper framework to allow it.
