- randomdata 10y agoMe, I'm paid to translate someone's idea from one language to another. The value to the business is already understood by the one conveying the original idea. My only job is to ensure that the entity on the other side fully understands what was originally communicated without hinderance through language barriers.
- bluetwo 10y agoThat sounds great, but I never see clients who actually understand what they need.
- kinkdr 10y agoI am paid to mainly fix bugs. "Writing code" is mainly for free time and enjoyment.
- kutkloon7 10y agoCool. I am a janitor.
- AstralStorm 10y agoI think that a sysadmin is the modern equivalent of one. Heck, administrator is another name for a janitor. Janitors also solve a set of problems. Except they might have input in the processes.
- davidgerard 10y agoI explain my job as computer roadie. I get all the black boxes into place so the devs can get up and be Eric Clapton.
