Whoever in the military writes the descriptions for these things has got to be so excited that microwave energy moves at the same speed as light, just so they can say engagements take place "at the speed of light"
- cgearhart 10y agoMost of the time you see phrases like that, they've been added because many of the decision makers in charge of the DoD and above (think Congress) are not experts or even particularly knowledgeable about the underlying technologies.
- dogma1138 10y agoYou don't need to be an expert, people learn about optics and EM in 7-8th grade science classes if not earlier. If they don't fix your education system.
