I don't think I agree with 'very close to perfect'. Just entering a random sentence I got the following: Humans are far better than other species at altering our environment to suit our preferences. The German is pretty much wrong and the actual meaning of the original sentence is hard to deduce in my opinion. That being said, computer translation has come very far in the last decade.
