Hopefully by the time all the natural oil is gone we will be able to efficiently produce synthetic oil that is compatible with out current infrastructure. Also we will, hopefully, have worked out the best way to capture and contain/re-use the CO2 emissions. Though obviously we would need nuclear/wind/solar power for that backbone that facilitates oil synthesis.
