Along similar lines (someone grabbing on to an email address and blaming the recipient for their problems), from a few years back: the city of Tuttle, OK vs. CentOS

- DanBC 10y ago> I am computer literate! I have 22 years in computer systems engineering and operation. good grief. that poor cent os person.
- vollmond 10y agoTaylor's followup (according to wiki) is icing on the cake: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuttle,_Oklahoma#Controversy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuttle,_Oklahoma#Controversy
- nommm-nommm 10y agoWow, what an asshole... "Taylor stated that those commenting about him online were "a bunch of freaks out there that don’t have anything better to do ... [CentOS is] a free operating system that this guy gives away, which tells you how much time he’s got on his hands.""
- MattSayar 10y agoI haven't read the entire exchange between Taylor and the CentOS folks, but I wonder if anyone tried an analogy for him. "CentOS is like a car, and right now its turned off. Somebody on your end lost the keys. You don't go to the dealership to demand they find your keys. Please ask your IT person to find the keys and turn the car back on." Or something like that. Weak analogy, but I doubt the mayor would be capable of poking holes in it.
