Same with big-company open offices: An open office for a team? Probably OK. A (single) open office for 300 developers in a department working on different things? Not so much besides a recipe for noise and distraction. * My employer uses an "agile" process, it was designed by a bunch of PMs and middle managers. Team empowerment was not on the agenda.
