- beagle3 10y agoThe title is wrong. It should be "Altify - uses Microsoft's computer vision API to caption images in an HTML file" -- although it is already wrong in the original website. computer vision APIs, whether Google, Microsoft or ClarifAi are not a public utility yet, and by using them you give said entities (and any government entity they work with) a copy of your data. You might not care, but some people do.

- jaunkst 10y agoWhy wouldn't google use this as an advantage as an example. Making bad SEO an advantage. Other search engines would have to have a competing strategy to give better results for their consumers.
- haddr 10y agoI've recently noticed that Facebook is already doing that, check it out.
- userbinator 10y agoI am curious --- and somewhat hesistant --- to see what it does with more... NSFW material.

- partiallypro 10y agoThis would be a great thing to turn into a plugin for a CMSs like Wordpress, Umbraco, Drupal, etc. Not sure how you could do that with Python though. Maybe even using something like Azure's scm.

- mikebay 10y agoSeriously, why you would base any part of your business to Facebook's, Google's or Microsoft's public services.. There have to be more better options for people. Trust issue with these corporations is an understatement..
