So the tsunami was 1 foot Hawaian style. Doesn't seem too big...
- senorjazz 10y agotsunami wave != typical wave. A wall of water that just keeps coming. A water bulldozer.
- Symbiote 10y agoLess a wave, and more a rapid increase in sea level lasting for a few minutes.
- ythl 10y agoThink of it more like a flood coming in from the ocean than a "Deep Impact" style wall of water that demolishes everything in its path.

- disordinary 10y agoThe tsunami risk was low because it was an inland quake, however they enacted a tsunami evacuation as a precaution. Would you rather they take a risk?
