I went to Lucene/Solr Revolution 2016 in Boston last month and it was great, there's a lot good things happening. I can even tolerate the "Java/xmlisation" of Solr nowadays ;) Some colleagues went to an Elastic conference and felt there was foremost in a sales pitch than anything.
