Thanks, I forgot about the splits. What if you bought Apple for $10K? Update: As far as I can see they have had two 2 for 1 splits and one 7 for 1 split. Meanwhile the price of the stock has gone from $3.696 to $107.79. Meaning that you would have over $400K today + dividends.

What if you invested 1 year ago? You'd be down ~10% on Apple and up ~10% on MSFT. Anyone can pick an arbitrary timeframe to suit their argument.
