So it looks like they are planning on adding the map editing tools directly into Google Maps - ETA March 2017 And in the meantime, all the existing editors are being asked to be what I imagine is more of a local content writer. Would it be similar if an OpenStreetMap contributor is asked to contribute to a Wikipedia Article about their town?
