Get some houseplants.

- komali2 10y agoI recommend a Japanese Peace Lily.
- q-base 10y agoOut of curiosity I had to look-up that one. Strong candidate for next indoor plant. Thanks! Even though I wasn't really looking for new plants and I admit that half of it sold me on the "Japanese" part :)
- character0 10y agoAre you a fan of 'Hot Fuzz' or just enjoy the plant? Either way, I would have to second this recommendation. It's nice to look at, hardy, responsive to watering (everything just perks up), and doesn't require a ton of light.
- komali2 10y agoHah, that was the reference, but I bought one after watching the movie for the umpteenth time, and it really is an easy plant to take care of.
- warfangle 10y agoGetting some art from local artists whose work you enjoy is also an option. Even though it's stuff, it's possible to enjoy its aesthetic. Unless you're in SF, y'all forced all the artists out so there aren't any local ones anymore.
- wodenokoto 10y agowhy local? I got a factory painting from Aliexpress and I love it. I also have a painting from a street painter in Vietnam (you know, a guy that paints generic "traditional" art for turists) and I love it.
