I continue to use Perl (5) for text munging, data cleaning, and gluing together programs written in other languages. It was designed for these tasks, I still need to do them, and nothing has come along since that is substantially better. When I need to do other things, I use other languages, and so far I haven't seen that Perl 6 has a "killer app."
