at a guess, its kinda the key size for hours 12/2=6, 12/3=4 work well, (with /4 and /6 being repeats of those) 24 hours doesn't add much on top of those divis

12/2=6, 12/3=4 work well, (with /4 and /6 being repeats of those)
24 hours doesn't add much on top of those divisions (you get /4 with a repeating /6 I guess)
