Which of these are unfit or confidential? This is an extremely weak argument. It's basically saying that none of the languages besides Rust and/or Go are unfit for system-level software.

- fjdkfjdkfjdk 10y agoI suspect the author meant "controversial", since "confidential" makes zero sense.
- polotics 10y agothe author meant "not widely used" and assumed french~=english
- mxvzr 10y ago"confidentiel" can be used in french to denote something that isn't necessarily secretive/restricted but yet only known by a select few. I assume the author meant "esoteric".
- bitwize 10y agoThere's also the fact that Guix is based on Shepherd (formerly dmd), an init system written in motherfucking Scheme. There is nothing inherently low level about init; if your language can talk POSIX, it can be used in that purpose.
