shameless self promotion I have created music specifically designed to engage/distract the 5 year-old in my mind so that the adult in my mind can actually get work done. The tracks introduce elements in a layered presentation that keeps the content the same but creates emergent properties as the already introduced elements interact with the newly introduced ones. Almost all tracks are at 120 bpm and in the key of C using the pentatonic scale. I find that the result is enough variance to keep the 5 year-old's attention but enough sameness to not engage the adult.
