I use Cloudflare for mine (https://www.garysieling.com/blog https://www.garysieling.com/blog) - they catch 75% of the requests. For sections that are rarely hit, you'd still get 404's from downtime, and there are more valid URLs to pages on a Wordpress site than you'd think.
