Makes sense.
Especially as the founder of Asana is spending millions supporting Clinton against Trump
- meritt 10y agoIf Dustin and Justin wants to really come out against it, they'll come against Thiel explicitly. Continuing to take his money while claiming to supporting the opposite is hypocritical. They are playing the same bullshit card that Sam Altman is and trying to brush it off as mere politics while hedging their bets and playing both sides. I view Trump as an existential threat to everything that America is founded upon and I will not stand idly while "leaders" in the tech community support him.
- jessaustin 10y agoHow can one see all of the shit we've seen from Snowden, Manning, all of the drug enforcement murders and imprisonment all of the wars all of the murderdeathdrone assassinations etc. and then decide Trump is a bridge too far? Is this the first political campaign you've noticed?
- meritt 10y agoBecause Trump is the first candidate in history who has promised to ban an entire demographic of people, expressed confusion on why we don't use nuclear weapons, and threatened to attack a country based on some rude hand gestures. This goes far beyond simple political differences: He'll drag us into another world war.
- jessaustin 10y agoI'm not voting for him, but Trump is just a troll. He just says shit that turns the media's crank. He's not really a businessman anymore; he's a lazy social media figure. He won't build one mile of his famous wall, he won't do anything to reverse offshoring of jobs, and he isn't going to start stupid wars for no reason. Clinton has already done that last one... [since no one remembers, I'm talking about Libya... who's next?]
- OoTheNigerian 10y agoSo they should go back in time and refuse his money? Just delete him from the cap table? What exactly would you do?
