Just started working on apsurd - a collaborative network for school clubs/organizations.

I'll be entering this into the http://refresheverything.com http://refresheverything.com contest May 1 because I believe it will have a positive impact on students and their neighborhoods.
- codemechanic 17y agolooks great. how do you plan to gain traction
- apsurd 17y agohey, thanks for looking. The strategy is to feed off of facebook's ridiculous penetration of schools. If we can integrate nearly anything and everything with facebook then provided its actually a useful service, I think groups will spread their participation virally. Right now many groups already have a facebook group, but facebook groups are functionally limited. The goal is to make it more fun, establish more self-ownership, and be more interactive, all while not taking anything away from facebook (no sense in competing). One main thing I didn't cover in the demo was the fact that I ultimately want to give an "online presence" to these clubs. Not just for social "write on my wall" type things but for marketing their ventures to people that may actually help them. A way to look professional in the eyes of donors, sponsors, public figures, etc - to put their name on the map so to speak in order to facilitate collaboration of all kinds.
- myaccount 17y agoThe web design above the fold looks great.
- whimsy 17y agoSuper cool! I was /just thinking/ about a project like Apsurd in class today. I guess you beat me to it! I'm part of a lot of student orgs on my campus; I'll try it out some time soon.
- apsurd 17y agoHey thanks, glad you can identify with the need. You mind dropping me an email, as there's no contact info in your profile. I'd like to get in touch with you when it launches. Implementation is everything so I can definitely use some feedback! Thanks!
