They're clearly trying to get out of the computing business altogether. Phones, tablets, and other trinkets are where the money is.
- pc86 10y agoTIL a phone is a trinket and not a small computer.
- wyldfire 10y agoThis isn't some grand strategy, it's just a knee-jerk reaction to the FX risk/impact of Brexit. Business leaders say "hey man all our costs are anchored in USD but GBP are worth less than they used to be so now revenue in this region is down [due to factors far outside of our control]." So they debate about the market impact of raising prices and they seem to feel that their product is strong enough to endure (and/or the competition is already doing this or will follow them).
