When you employee others you do so on the understanding that if they have kids then they are going to take a bit more "sick" leave than someone without a kid. That is just life. Actually saying "if they have kids" isn't actually correct, it is if they have any dependants. Almost everyone has dependants at some point in their lives and you have to accept that.
