Why is the block button not sufficient?
- netik 10y agoBecause the block button doesn't actually block. It poorly hides the user's content from your view while other users can still see the abuse.
- h4nkoslo 10y agoWhy would that matter? What kind of useable communications platform prevents third parties from conversing about a separate person?
- PKop 10y agoHow is that harmful to the original poster? They don't see it. Seems adequate, especially when defining a universally accepted definition of "abuse" that isn't just censorship-as-abuse itself is such a hard problem..
- khattam 10y agoBecause abuse is not the problem. If someone disagrees with you, libtard philosophy demands that you are silenced. So they constantly come up with what's "abusive" so that they can functionally silence anyone that threatens their power. Blocking people is the worst option for then because they won't be able to see how people threatening their power are doing so.
