Nowadays, it's true. They can't put tech in NJ because no 25-30 year old NYC-dweller would do that commute when the city is filled with tech jobs. My brother works there and told me how odd it was that during the interview they explicitly stated they would never move him to NJ. He didn't understand what they meant until we had this exact discussion.
