Google is pretty transparent about the underlying technologies such as Dremel X, ColumnIO, Capacitor, etc. Even if there is no source code, there is quite a bit in the form of papers, talks, peer OSS projects (e.g. Apache Drill), etc. But I can't say the same about RedShift, it's a complete black box. (Other than that it's a mod of an ancient version of Postgres)
