I don't think that the deepest technical roles in computing, including programming are social enough for most women. Programming requires you to work without talking to anyone and even when you've finished many non-tech people won't understand what you did, so you can't even talk about it then. There are clearly lots of benefits to having women in the tech industury, but if they don't want to program that cuts the number at least in half on that point alone.
