I thank you for your nightmarish work (by the way, what's your sub? It sounds like you do a good job!).
But yeah, they're all awful. r/KiA just keeps getting worse and worse. They're at the point where some of them are actually attacking John Bain, who is one of the symbols for ethical journalism in games, just because he has clearly stated that while he's pro-ethics, he's not going to involve himself with, or put up with, the r/KiA BS.
All of them have gotten far beyond the point where they stand for something, if they ever did: their only purpose now is to perpetuate their own existence.
- throwaway1892 10y agoWhat's r/KiA? I have only found a subreddit about the car brand (KIA)?
- Semaphor 10y agohttps://www.reddit.com/r/KotakuInAction/ https://www.reddit.com/r/KotakuInAction/ I'd advise not to go there ;)
- throwaway1892 10y agoThank you. And the titles does not seem too bad, but I haven't read the comments. Edit: Well, it's not too bad
- scruple 10y agoWhat they're not telling you is that it's the GamerGate sub-reddit. I stopped paying attention to _that_ a long time ago, so I'm not sure what the state of that sub is today.
- throwaway1892 10y agoIn fact they are quite open about it. > WELCOME! > KotakuInAction is the main hub for GamerGate discussion on Reddit. And I have read the few top thread and it's not too bad (YMMV).
- scruple 10y agoYes, well, I think if we've learned anything, over the last 2 years of this issue, it's that it is a supremely polarizing and subjective topic.
- qwertyuiop924 10y agoIt's better than it used to be in some ways: much of the worst have moved on to other forums.
- VLM 10y ago"their only purpose now is to perpetuate their own existence." AKA the inevitable destination of all extremist political movements. If there were an easy way to identify that kind of content and wield a banhammer against it, it would really clean up the internet in general (and stinkier corners of reddit in particular).
- qwertyuiop924 10y agoUnfortunately, NLP is a hard problem, and detecting intent is even harder: so hard even humans have trouble with it.
