The problem of sotware is the fact it is roughly an «artisitc work» (hence the IP crap laws) and that there is no obligation of results, hence no warranty to protect the customers. It is pretty much the wild west of the economy that is fueled on lack of fair law to balance private interests vs public/consumers interests.
