It could use better memory management.
- danellis 10y agoNo kidding -- after a couple of minutes of play, it brought my 32GB Mac to a near halt.
- msyea 10y agoJust borked my 16GB MBP. Never seen the OS X "Your system has run out of application memory." alert. Great game though.
- subinsebastien 10y agoIn one minute, I had to force Quit chrome on my mac.
- iconjack 10y agoDoesn't that mean your OS is rather broken as well?
- BoorishBears 10y agoBroken for respecting it's owners wish to run a program with most of the resources available to it?
- pritambaral 10y agoTangentially related — and I'm not dissing on OS X here — but I really like the Linux kernel's Magic SysRq keys. It's a simple concept: no matter what software does, the hardware will always pass through the kernel first; so set up special keybindings to command the kernel to do special things. Alt-SysRq-f pulls out the OOM killer, which targets the worst memory abusing process and just mercilessly kills it. It's super handy on a desktop OS that's frequently pushed to its limits. Chrome eating too much RAM? Pull out Alt-SysRq-f and kill the fattest Chrome process!
- danellis 10y agoIt is never my wish to devote so many resources to a program that the desktop becomes unresponsive.
- danellis 10y agoYep. There should at least be some kind of high-priority kill switch for that sort of thing.
- mdevere 10y agoyep, had to reboot
- mivv 10y agoIt ate up all my system memory after I got to about 9th place or something after 2 minutes and I had to force quit Chrome.
- o_____________o 10y agoLocked up my Macbook in the same manner, quite impressive
- d-sc 10y agoWeird.. it works easily on my iPad.
- codesmitten 10y agoPlayed a 21 minute game without issues on my 16GB laptop on chrome.
