Yarn may be something worth investing time in, but in the announcement blog post I found this part exceedingly ridiculous:
"The easiest way to get started is to run: npm install -g yarn"
- steveklabnik 10y agoThey also have binaries you can install without npm, however, it's extremely likely that their target audience already has npm installed, so that is indeed the easiest. (Also, something something "easy_install pip" or "gem install bundler")
- cr3ative 10y agoIt's a drop-in replacement for an audience who almost certainly have npm already. Path of least resistance for your audience is where you should be.
