I'm not sure I believe any politically convenient social science anymore.

  I'd wait for a bunch of other studies that back this up, or fail to. The trouble is that there may be loads of studies that find the opposite, but they are more likely to be stuffed in a file drawer somewhere because they contradict what we'd like to believe is true.
