It boils down to "Is there any type of attack that can compromise `curl | sh` without compromising a download from the site? I can only think if one - the download allows for md5 check. Also the language is too condescending to be taken seriously. Not to say that the tone has anything to do with the argument. And this probably matters less in the software world. But if you want yourself to be taken seriously, you either need to be Linus Torvalds or learn to disagree respectfully.
