- shanusmagnus 10y agoFunny point! I wonder if they'll add some "police funding tax" to self-driving car sales to make up for this revenue stream, the same way many politicians want a tax to electric vehicles to make up for the revenue lost to the gas tax. (Note: I don't really wonder this, because cops do not officially make stops in order to generate revenue, even though unofficially it's widely understood that they do.)
- tajen 10y ago...As long as they can rob the car and the bank accounts of the owners ("civil asset forfeiture"), they'll be fine.
- V-2 10y agoOn the other hand, self-driving cars will be eager to tell many other interesting stories about their drivers.
- YCode 10y agoI suspect they'll adapt to pull people over for things like sleeping in the driver seat, "embracing another while driving" and such. They could also shift to giving out more domestic or pedestrian tickets for things like music being too loud and jay-walking.
- bluedino 10y agoNobody's going to tweak their Tesla to roll through lights or go above the speed limit so they can get to work faster?
