You can bully people into a resentful silence temporarily with war, assassinations, violence, riots, (angry) protests. But if you want to build something that lasts and doesn't require an army of policemen to keep it in power, you have to go with the empathy and reasoned appeals.
- infosample 10y agoI didn't say anything about silence or bullying. Some people can't be won over with empathy and reasoned appeals. That's why I listed other options, including ignore. And yes, an army of policemen is required to stay power regardless of ideology. See every society.
- mzw_mzw 10y agoNorth Korea requires a far bigger army of policemen to keep everyone in line than South Korea. Do you want to be North Korea, or South Korea?
