Where to even begin on an article this bad?
0. The author doesn't bother to try a sip of soylent, but feels empowered to judge its flavor based on the opinions of other reviewers. This itself is meaningless, but it's representative of the amount of original thought in the rest of the article.
1. Implying the recall is due to reckless startup culture with no evidence and ignoring recalls from traditional players.
2. Telling people their every meal must be heirloom, artisan, and slowly eaten reeks of aspirational privilege. Has the author never grabbed a burger running late to a party? Can he really afford nothing but the finest ingredients on a writer's salary?
3. Most of the arguments are generic anti industrialized food and have nothing to do with contemporary food startups. Not only is soylent a reaction against those artificially flavored and unhealthy products from long established companies, it completely ignores startups like blue apron that promote slower food.
