FYI, a large number of enterprise orgs and Edus use Munki and Reposado to manage Macs.
Among these: Google(their fork is called Simian: https://github.com/google/simian https://github.com/google/simian) and Facebook.
Not only is Munki used across a large number of organizations, it also happens to arguable be the best current software management tool for Macs.
Another project maintained by the same group of MacAdmins is AutoPKG https://github.com/autopkg/autopkg https://github.com/autopkg/autopkg
