Apple and aluminum are design mates big time, I don't see that shift changing, but rather evolving as glass/touch/sizing progress continues. Because I'm an unrepentant geek for the stuff I'm going to want a carbon fiber chassis phone eventually. Mass-production CF still isn't a reality as far as I know, but it's being tested (BMW, golf companies, etc).
