I think the container example is actually more apt than you think. Running out of memory is a bit like running out of space in the container. If I dropship a container on your yard, you're going to have a container but your options in what to do with it are limited. Now if your container has a lifecycle and a scheduler because it needs to be in China on Wednesday, you suddenly have a lot more complexity. Docker itself being a buggy piece of crap is neither here now there in the grand scheme of things.
