A quick public service announcement from the UK: prepare yourself mentally for when you receive the news that Trump has won. It's a blow that you'll want to ease.
None of your friends are ignorant racist xenophobes. Nor is anybody in this forum or on the bits of facebook and twitter that you follow and therefore regard as "everybody."
But more than half the people are. And as England learned recently, when everybody votes, the majority tends to win.
- vixen99 10y agoNow which is this - reasoned argument or school level name-calling?
- hammon 10y agoSaid someone who don't understand anything about macroeconomy. But please don't compare Trump elections to Brexit.
- flukus 10y ago> None of your friends are ignorant racist xenophobes. As long as you keep labeling people like that for daring to disagree with you things are only going to get worse. Wanting to limit immigration is not racist or xenophobic, wanting to preserve a countries existing culture is not racist or xenophobic and wanting to preserve your quality of life is not racist or xenophobic.
- jasonkester 10y agoWanting to limit immigration is not racist or xenophobic, wanting to preserve a countries existing culture is not racist or xenophobic What term would you use for those things? To me, those sound like the definition of xenophobia. If you don't want people from other countries coming to your country and bringing their culture with them, that's the term people will use to describe you.
