    I'm not familiar with Maven, but comparing to other package managers (primarily bundler) - A sane approach to locking that's built in and impossible to forget. - Deterministic installs. - Basically enough stability that "delete your node_modules and npm install" is never a necessary solution to anything (I've had tons of instances where I've had to do this with npm).
