In the long run, this seems to be partly due to Henry George theorem (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_George_theorem https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_George_theorem). Otherwise real estate wouldn't be that exceptional than other asset classes, as the article suggests.
