I was also seeing a similar error message from downdetector.com. I can load it now though, and it's showing an uptick in reports for many sites on its front page. Blizzard has reported an outage of their Battle.net system. Whatever's going on it seems to be affecting a lot of different sites. I was checking out Twitter for correlation, and it seems like Comcast might be having a national outage. That could explain why people might be reporting problems with lots of services.
