The market for paid Linux software is very small
- gtk40 10y agoSmartGit is a good, paid Linux Git client.
- kevinherron 10y agoSmartGit is a good, paid, cross-platform client that just happens to run on Linux because it is written in Java. That is very different than developing a whole separate code base for a non-existent Linux market.
- Nullabillity 10y agoYeah. So what's Tower's excuse for not doing that in this day and age?
- lultimouomo 10y agoSmartGit is an awesome, paid cross-platform Git client. Written in Java, which probably means that it cost them relatively little money to support Linux, and maybe they wouldn't have done it otherwise?
- lultimouomo 10y ago(As an aside, SmartGit is the only success story for desktop Java apps that I can think of)
- Nullabillity 10y agoJetBrains IDEs, LibreOffice.
- mhb 10y agoPyCharm?
- 1121redblackgo 10y agoSpotify iirc
- veli_joza 10y agoyEd graph editor is best example of desktop Java I've seen.
