Yeah, Joel isn't wrong. Quiet distraction free environments are hard to come by. I do my best work personally when no one is bothering me for about 6 hours at a time. I worked the cube farm before, it was ok when it was quiet. Open spaces are horrendous. You may as well try working at a bar with your friends. It just ain't gonna happen. A private office seems like an unheard of thing these days.
