My daughter is a senior in high school. She used to love math. Then they switched to Common Core. Now she hates it. Having looked at her textbooks, I don't blame her. Confusing concepts presented quickly, with no depth, and it's unclear how those concepts solve the problems presented. Say what you will about the old way to solve for "b", at least you learned how to do it.
