  I had the same reaction. For example, does taking a lot of "tests" make you good at ... tests? To me it calls into question the validity of tests to measure intelligence.

    I would say that taking lots of tests may indeed make you better at taking tests. You may find that working under pressure or under a time limit is something that you get better at with practice.

  Practicing math will only make you better at math. Taking the time to truly understand the math in the most general terms will make you good at truly understanding anything in the most general terms.
