What happens to the concentrated sea water at the end of the cycle? Does it get pumped back to the ocean? Deposited into the ground?

    How would one even make genetically modified salt? The most you could do is to add additional genetically modified compounds to the salt, but salt in and of itself cannot be genetically modified.

  Like with most desalination plants I presume they mix it back with seawater and deposit in the ocean.
