For me the point lies in avoiding the hassle of getting a notification from haveibeenpwned.com that one of my accounts has been compromised and having to worry where else I used that username/password combo. That's why I user a password safe so that when that happens (at least 4 times to date), I can just shrug my shoulders and move on, resetting just that one password if I still use the site.
