It's unfortunate that "good UX" isn't really considered across all fields which have users. The recommendations to mitigate security fatigue are no different than any sort of user frustration:
1. Limit the number of ~~security~~ decisions users need to make;
2. Make it simple for users to choose the right ~~security~~ action; and
3. Design for consistent decision making whenever possible.
- ethbro 10y ago#2 is part of the problem. Users typically aren't informed enough to know the right action. I think that's one of the reasons we are in the current mess we're in. Attempting to explain the situation in plane, simple language is a better approach in my opinion.
- magila 10y agoI'm not sure you could come up with language plain or simple enough, if for no other reason than because most people will not read it regardless.
